What is KT Tape? Kinesiology Sports Tape
Kinesiology tape or KT Tape is an elastic sports tape often used by athletes to prevent injury during training. This Kt tape is constructed of a breathable and stretchable fabric to provide stability with all motor movements.
Kinesiology taping adheres directly to the skin in an upward motion in order to support surrounding muscles and ligaments. If you're recovering from an injury or wanting to prevent one during training this has been clinically proven to support any recovery plan.

What Are The Benefits of KT Tape
The main goals of kinesiology taping is to increase circulation within the muscle fibers in order to promote quicker healing, prevent injury with movement and support active muscles overall.
Kt tape is known for relieving pain and tension by intercepting nerve stimulus felt during injury. Application allows your body to send nerve inhibitors in place of nerve stimulation signals.

5 Benefits of Using Kinesiology Body Tape
- Prevent/ Recover injury: In order to prevent injury, kt tape targets the muscular system and the lymphatic system by lifting the skin to allow positive blood flow within the joint space.
- Reduce Inflammation: The increase in blood flow then allows the lymphatic system to drain out any irritants that may be causing inflammation within the muscles.
- Athletic Performance: preventative measures in any training are crucial. Kt tape aids your muscles by training them to work more efficiently with movement. This process unlike other services, promotes positive muscle memory to form.
- Structural Support: Physical therapists often utilize kinesiology tape to correct injury due to poor posture. This tugging sensation is a gentle reminder to focus on form and function when experiencing movement.
- Combats Poor Biomechanics: Having poor biomechanics translates to having abnormalities in your body's movements. This can be due to structural imbalances either from injury or low mobility.

Where Should I Use My KT Tape
The convenience of kt tape is its easy application process, whether you're training daily for a marathon or simply want to improve your poor posture, kinesiology tape is proven to enhance your functionality. Apply it on any joint or muscular area such as:
- Back Muscles to enhance good posture
- Calves to stabilize the achilles
- Elbows to combat Golfers and Tennis Elbow
- Shoulder muscles to stabilize the rotator cuff
- Knee joint to relieve pressure or pain
Kt tape is proven for all injuries, this addition to your recovery plan may be crucial for added support with anything from a shoulder complex to knee pain.

How To Apply My KT Tape
Once you determine where you'd like to apply your kt tape we recommend cleaning and drying the skin for a smoother application process. This allows the adhesive backing to provide you with optimal support upon application.
Whether you're applying to your back, neck, shoulders, arms or hands cutting the tape may be necessary to determine the appropriate length. The tape provides more joint space and enhances blood flow when applied.
When cutting the tape there are 3 common options

The I-Cut
This is the precut full strip and can be applied as is or can be cut into other dimensions to provide desired support. This cut is generally useful to reduce stress and pressure on many muscles.
The Y-Cut
This cut is generally useful for larger muscle groups, take one strip, measure where you'd like to place it and cut down the middle roughly half way, leaving the tail end solid. This should resemble a Y shape.
Apply the anchor without tension and rub to activate the adhesive, then pull the remaining strands to create tension. Lastly, remove the rest of the backing and place the other anchor down without tension.
The Fan-Cut
This cut is often used to reduce swelling and inflammation on muscles that have experienced overuse or injury. To create this strip, take one piece, measure where you'd like to place it and cut down the middle roughly half way 4 times until you have 4 equal strips. Leave the tail end solid to add support when applying.
Apply the anchor without tension and rub to activate the adhesive, then pull the remaining strands to create tension. Lastly, remove the rest of the backing and place the other anchor down without tension.
